LLANDUDNO and LLANRWST both had their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cricket Cup ended on Sunday (July 6).
Llanrwst posted a challenging 192 for 4 in their 45 overs against Llay Welfare at Gwydir Park with Matthew Coleman scoring 65 for his maiden half century in the first team, and Tarique Khan adding 59. But Llay won on 193 for 5 with nearly four overs to spare thanks to 83 by John Parry and 50 not out from Dave Phennah.
Llandudno were heavily beaten in their tie at Northop Hall, who are currently top of Division One in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition.
The home side blasted 311 for 6 in their 45 overs and then bowled out Llandudno for a disappointing 105.
