Colwyn Bay rugby clinch runners-up spot

COLWYN BAY rugby coinched runners-up spot behind champions Caernarfon in Division Four North of the WRU National League with a 26-0 win at Dolgellau in their final fixture.
They claimed maximum points with tries from centre Pat Leach, wing James Thatcher, scrum-half Ben Evans and Ashley James, who also added three conversions.

IN football, Glan Conwy are runners-up in the Pentraeth Honda Welsh Alliance after coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Llanberis thanks to second half goals from Rob King and Aled Stapleton.
Llandudno Junction drew 1-1 with champions Bethesda, after leading with a Nathan Jones goal, but they have still slipped to bottom place in the table after Amlwch Town won 3-1 to end Llanrwst United's hopes of finsihing in third place.
Conwy United finish fifth after losing their final game 3-0 at Nefyn.
In the Clwyd League Glan Conwy Reserves reached the final of the REM Jones Cup with goals from Nathan Bower and Gareth Evans giving them a 2-0 win over Y Glannau, and they now play Division One champions Greenfield in the final on Monday, May 12.
