Llandudno out of League Cup

Posted by Tim Channon on October 18, 2007 11:10 AM |

LLANDUDNO are out of the Cymru Alliance League Cup after a 2-0 home defeat against Holyhead Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Two goals from Curt Williams, after 23 and 65 minutes, saw the Anglesey side progress to the second round as Llandudno's disappointing home record continued.
Having won five out of five league and cup games away from home, they have won only two out of seven home games, although they lost keeper Sean Pearson through injury in the second half and had to play on with 10 men as all the subs had been used.
Llandudno have been left without a game this weekend following the decison of Bodedern to pull out of the league this week for financial reasons.
That means Llandudno's 4-0 win over Bodedern in August is now null and void, dropping them seven points behind current leaders Prestatyn Town with a game in hand.
There is more on that story in this week's Weekly News, plus news on a possible addition to Colwyn Bay's squad ahead of their FA Trophy home tie against Newcastle Blue Star on Saturday.
There is news of an eagle in the Bayonet Winter Scratch Golf League, plus all the local golf news, a full-round up of local football, rugby, hockey, darts, badminton, table tennis and snooker and the junior sports page features pictures of Llanrwst Under-12s rugby team and Glan Conwy Under-11s football squad plus results and reports on junior football and rugby.
